Define the actual goal
Some owners want room for a specific tire. Others want trail clearance, a level stance, or simply a different look. Those goals can lead to different parts. A modest leveling kit and a full suspension lift are not interchangeable, and neither automatically increases every kind of clearance.
Be honest about daily highway use, towing, payload, and off-road frequency. A setup that looks impressive but creates poor ride quality or constant tire contact is not a successful installation.
Plan the supporting pieces
Tire diameter and wheel offset influence rubbing and load on steering and wheel bearings. Some heights require control arms, track-bar or steering corrections, longer shocks, brake-line considerations, or driveline adjustments. The exact needs depend on the truck and kit design.
An alignment is part of the job, not an optional follow-up. After the installation settles, reinspection and torque checks may also be appropriate according to the component manufacturer’s instructions.
Keep it usable and legal
Lighting aim, bumper and frame height, mud coverage, tire load rating, and safe steering clearance all matter. Requirements can change, so verify current Arizona rules for your vehicle rather than relying on a forum post. Modifications may also affect warranties or driver-assistance calibration.
Bring the whole plan to the estimate
Share the truck’s year, configuration, two- or four-wheel drive, desired tire size, current modifications, and intended use. If you already bought parts, bring the complete manufacturer part numbers. That allows the shop to check compatibility before the truck is apart.
